The summer and winter pastures are surrounded by a simple electrical wire. They are subdivided into many different plots, each surface area varying from two to four hectares. The rotation of the pastures assures better use by the animals, all the while allowing for a better control of parasites by the preventive use of a pasture harrow as soon as the animals are sent to a new pasture. The steer will be sent to graze in a pasture of much greater surface area.

The winter pastures for the bulls-steers-calves and the cows-heifers respectively is where the Highland are kept from the fall until spring. This permits, among other things, optimal management of manure conforming to a respect of the environment, while preserving the soil during the period of freezing-thawing of fall and spring.

And finally, the finishing feedlot is where the Highland destined for the meat market are confined.
