Finishing pastures & pens is a receiving area for the bison that are intended for the meat market. As soon as they are weaned, the young calves selected for this market will be moved to one of assigned sections of the finishing pastures & pens.

Between the time of birth and the arrival at the slaughterhouse approximately 28 months will have elapsed. During this time, the bison will have been fed grass, forages, and mineral supplements. The forage necessary to feed the bison is produced on the broad expanses of the Borealis farm as well as on rented land nearby.
